I seem to have an equal amount of work to do at home on a Sunday to the amount of stuff I do on a school day. My new tradition is having a ton of homework on Sundays and it's not even possible for this tradition to go wrong because I ALWAYS have homework on Sundays. Alas, I do get 3 months of summer vacation so I guess it's the same amount of work as a working person... anyways, this is a very depressing first blog for some time and I have ideas for other posts so I'll be posting them soon! Just informing you that I'm still here... and up to my eyes in homework!!!Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1302117865582366461.post-65965683952852710002011-09-05T07:15:00.000-07:002011-09-05T07:15:07.847-07:00School's in Session and Other Stuff<div style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">So, as with many other students across the country, school is now in session once again and I'm not sure how I feel about this. What good could possibly come from mounds of homework, getting up at 6 and staying up late cramming for a test? On the other hand, it gives me something to do and gives me some sort of schedule... Oh well, I guess it's just a fact of life. </div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://oglesandobservations.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/school-bus2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://oglesandobservations.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/school-bus2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Also, as I rediscovered on the first day of school, busses are extremely unreliable. Our bus is supposed to come at 6:54 every day but due to it breaking down (on the FIRST day of school!) it didn't come until twenty past seven. It's been on time every day since so I'm hoping it was only a one-time thing.<br />
<br />
In other news, my braces, that I've had for over a year will be coming out on september 13th! I've technically been going through my dental experience with teeth-straightening process since I was in 6th grade (or 12 years old) and now I'm finally done at age (almost) 15. I used to go to an orthodontist in the center of town but they didn't seem that reliable nor reassuring so I switched and am currently going to a place in Northborough that's much better.<br />
<br />
I started with having spacers to spread a few of my teeth out in preparation for braces. I then had to have some metal contraption called a herpt's device which essentially reconfigured my jaw. I had that for about a year and a half. Then I got braces which I've been wearing with elastics and getting tightened for about a year and a half so it'll be to be done with it all!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://blog.syracuse.com/today/2009/04/biz_090407_db_wegmans.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="183" src="http://blog.syracuse.com/today/2009/04/biz_090407_db_wegmans.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Lastly, I applied for a job the other day! At Wegmans! Not the above Wegmans; i just took that image from the Internet. I applied for a job at the new Wegmans in Northborough I a new shopping complex. For some reason, even though most stores require you to be 16 to work, this one only requires you to be 15 to work as a bagger or shelf-stacker etc. Also, the store doesn't even open until late October and that's not long until my birthday (January 7th) so I just put down a starting date of January 8th.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Anyways, that's it for now. Stick around for more posts soon.</div>Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1302117865582366461.post-72609271265449057202011-08-28T08:29:00.000-07:002011-08-28T08:29:11.866-07:00Hurricane Irene: Come at me<br />
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSMXrsCpwbpRNue4txC6CrqIDC1Tjjl4J3Q0kCHA5MxhWAps4Bv9Q" /> </div><br />
As many people know, Hurricane Irene is the latest news story to hit the East coast and it's doing some pretty bad damage in places like the Carolina's.<br />
<br />
I mean just look at that. Just the sight of that vortex is menacing.<br />
<br />
Luckily when the storm came to us it had simmered down a bit and is now only being called a tropical storm. However, I don't think I'd want anything more than this being as the trees in our backyard look like they could collapse at any moment as it is.<br />
<br />
We spent the morning listening to the waves of water on the roof and exchanging soaking towels for dry ones in an attempt to stop our basement flooding. The storm is supposed to be at it's worst around 2 this afternoon. Luckily, we're prepared with trail mix, welsh cakes and leftover chili.<br />
<br />
And the plus side is that if teacher training is postponed tomorrow, school doesn't start until Wednesday!<br />
<br />
Best of luck!<br />

And apparently it did meet our eggspectations being as we all thoroughly enjoyed it. However, our waiter seemed a bit scrambled (no pun intended) because he forgot to bring our toast. We had a table that allowed us to see out onto the street and watch them set up for the Montréal film festival making us wish we'd stayed another night.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYfUqOLLJ5nW3wOirberAsX9yJR6AVmGKav65Vw7IczhBNz41Vkk_H2rQz1k8M2ZSzJPoTLO3uvKbFmz93k-ph8N9xgLZXOim6OREhkl2mKEiiLizGY5PWxqmKGvLgr-gowa_p0tKokwPS/s1600/IMG_1540.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYfUqOLLJ5nW3wOirberAsX9yJR6AVmGKav65Vw7IczhBNz41Vkk_H2rQz1k8M2ZSzJPoTLO3uvKbFmz93k-ph8N9xgLZXOim6OREhkl2mKEiiLizGY5PWxqmKGvLgr-gowa_p0tKokwPS/s320/IMG_1540.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
After we'd eaten, we took a stroll down to Old Montréal and looked in some shops. You can tell when you've entered old Montréal because the road turns into cobblestones and the French because much more abundant despite the fact that it's less than a kilometer to regular Montréal.<br />

<br />
Later we decided to see if we could get a spot on an Amphi tours bus/boat. It's basically the equivalent to the Duck Tours in Boston: a tour of the city that goes from bus to boat. However, we didn't have to get tickets months in advance for this one and we managed to get tickets for the 2:30 tour.<br />
<br />
To pass time before our tour, we stopped in here.<br />

Our tour guide spoke in both French and English... that was interesting. We started by going around the city in bus-mode and pointing out famous old buildings etc. etc. We saw the old stock exchange building, the floating bank safe and the huge silos by the water (also where 300 was filmed). In the water, we cruised about the harbor and saw some more building and the docks and, my favorite, THE UNFINISHED GAME OF TETRIS!<br />

My parents are totally hooked on sending me to college here in Montréal. "Oh, look how close the campus is to the city" "And look, there's the computer science building! Pretty snazzy." Okay, that might have been a little bit of an exaggeration. I mean, who says 'snazzy' nowadays? Anyways, my point is that they think that me going to college here would be a good choice...<br />
<br />
Anyways, to recap our day, we started off by lounging around our hotel a little too long like most days. This tends to be the fault of my sister spending too much time snoozing.<br />
<br />
After finally getting out of the hotel, we went to a very colorful breakfast place on avenue du park called "Chez Cora Déjeuners"<br />

We started the day by going to a local café called the "Café Imagination" (Didn't have to get our dictionary out to read that one). It was pretty good apart from how hot the room was.<br />

We didn't bother going up the lift thing at the Olympic Stadium but the Biodôme was impressive. It's basically a giant horseshoe-crab-shaped building that is split into different ecosystems for those of you who were curious. The first ecosystem we encountered was the tropical rainforest and it was clearly the most impressive (and most humid). The animals were also by far the most impressive.<br />

My grandparents journeyed back across the pond to sunny Newport so not much has happened.<br />
<br />
*Running shoes update* I don't think that I was really running correctly with my other shoes meaning that these new professional shoes are forcing me to run differently than I'm used to causing some pain in my legs. I should be comfortable and ready for the race(s) in september though hopefully!<br />
<br />
In other news, last night, an opossum stumbled upon our cat's food on the deck last night. It was surprisingly timid and didn't seem to bother the cat at all. The closest it got was about 4 feet from the screen door that we were looking out of before it waddled its way back up the garden and into the bushes. I'm hoping to try to lure it back tonight to get some pictures tonight with some dry cat food. I tried to get a photo last night but it was too dark and far away. Let the stakeout begin. This is what an opossum looks like for those of you who don't know.<br />

I'm going to go to Staples and shop for some school supplies. I don't actually have a list this year so I'll probably end up piling a ton of stuff into the shopping cart that will have minimal or no use in the aid of my education but looks cool; Such as an easy button for example!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm contemplating an idea for my next blog post so I might put another one up fairly soon.</div>Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1302117865582366461.post-31111843829075207582011-08-04T08:41:00.000-07:002011-08-04T08:41:34.598-07:00Crystal Caves Mini Golf.This past Monday, being as it was one of my grandparents last days with us after almost six weeks of seeing them, they brought my sister and I to an all time favorite day trip: Crystal Caves mini golf in Auburn. It wasn't that busy on a Monday and a big group of people came immediately after us so I guess we came at the right time!<br />

The winner was my grand dad with a score of 48 followed by my nan with 52 and tied for third (or last if you want to be pessimistic) was myself and Emma both with 59 points despite Emma getting 3 holes in one in the game. We followed up this with a cool down and some lunch in the 99 right across the street.<br />

I looked at my old running shoes side on and the entire base of the shoe was flat unlike my new arched one.<br />
<br />

They absorb the shock more and are overall very comfortable. I think they're called "adrenaline" and I got them from PR running in northborough.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.myprrun.com/images/storefront.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.myprrun.com/images/storefront.jpg" /></a>When I went in, one of the staff members brought me outside to see what kind of running style I have. Turns out, I'm a pretty average pronator meaning I turn my foot in but not too much. I then tried on a couple of pairs of shoes all with good arch to support my foot when it turns in. After three pairs, I'd found a perfect match and we were out of the store after 20 minutes. One of the staff members even recommended a good 5 mile race to go to. So, if you're ever looking to buy some new running shoes I definitely recommend PR Running in Northborough!Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1302117865582366461.post-63190251451471582462011-07-31T07:52:00.000-07:002011-07-31T07:52:46.016-07:00Shoes, Cheesecake and Smurfs.<div style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></div><br />
I think it's starting to catch up with me that I need some new running shoes. My old, grubby ones have holes in the mesh and, most importantly, don't support my feet well as I learned yesterday. Being as after searching "successful running" one of the first links was "Successful running starts with the sole." I think I'll be looking for some new ones today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFGJNyI1uidANQpM8mBNtKVHgkI4F5JOY10IsU4mt0aDIVqi86Od_aDMaxenRHPLqoVvdDIBnMarf6wEm6f6p8AkCThNPi5-fjhjbi6yHftyOBswpUg1KdpG5jFDxuOoKWY4hORP17iJRX/s1600/IMG_1391.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFGJNyI1uidANQpM8mBNtKVHgkI4F5JOY10IsU4mt0aDIVqi86Od_aDMaxenRHPLqoVvdDIBnMarf6wEm6f6p8AkCThNPi5-fjhjbi6yHftyOBswpUg1KdpG5jFDxuOoKWY4hORP17iJRX/s320/IMG_1391.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>In other news, yesterday was rather slow. I think the humidity made me feel really lethargic. I still managed to go to stop n' shop and buy a few things (including another mango which was a success this time!) I figured it was going to be a slow day but I forced myself (was forced) to go for a run. We did a run that's exactly 3.14 miles long... or the pi run as I like to call it.<br />
<br />
After dinner, we scoffed some cheesecake from the cheesecake factory and I WAS planning on using the grill to burn all my old school papers and things I didn't want but apparently that makes too much of a mess... so we finished off the evening by watching Robin hood. It was pretty good and slow in some parts but I really liked the big fight scenes towards the end.<br />

Speaking of movies, the other night I went to see the smurf movie... It was alright apart from the fact that the characters insisted on replacing a perfectly good English word with the word smurf at least once every 2 minutes. I smurf it 3 smurfs up.<br />

My post about the 5k race last Saturday has finally arrived due to a mixture of me getting around to writing it and getting the photos from it. Either way, it was a bad race. I came in with a shocking time of 33:29. I'm hoping to get under 32 on one of my next two races, the Spirit of Shrewsbury and the Northborough Apple fest: both within the span of a fortnight. I've actually been training for these ones though so I hope I'll be better.<br />
<br />
To start the day off, we had some torrential thunder storms and lightning which delayed the races by about 45 minutes. It didn't take long to heat up while we were running though.<br />
<br />
The race started with a torturous hill that pretty much winded me before the race had begun. Good thing there was a long downhill following that allowed me to regain my breath. After that, it wasn't bad but it seemed to be slightly uphill for the longest time and I didn't notice any down hill. After the first mile marker, I thought I was doing pretty good but the second mile marker seemed to take forever to arrive. I just assumed they didn't have one like the Hopkinton race but when I assumed I was about 2.5 miles in, I saw the two-mile marker. This depressed me. However, I wasn't doing that bad. It was only about 21 minutes in. The third mile was what killed me. By this time it was getting very hot and the sun was out making the road comparable to a sauna. After, several ups and downs, I was just looking for some flat but after I turned a corner around 2.5 miles, I was greeted with another big hill. This killed me and I had to walk for the first time in any of my 5k events. I did manage to begin running again at the end to finish the race though.<br />

Yesterday, after dinner, all six of us (including grandparents) decided to take a trip down to the Hebert Candy Mansion Thursday night car show. We got there quite late so many of the cars had left but there were still plenty to look at and not as crowded as it was last year. <div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNuFFgFpPw33FE1fWqQQzxT3poX65fNnZX2BqEW8MfzwCXlxI42u2nwYkfWoSLi4_a7AjuUF8a-KkG-7RziHcKisyCkE7hPc9fHEN0XrJvkf9xXPtaSb7Xu2sv64Rmtqb-0aPLzx9OQLk_/s1600/IMG_1374.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNuFFgFpPw33FE1fWqQQzxT3poX65fNnZX2BqEW8MfzwCXlxI42u2nwYkfWoSLi4_a7AjuUF8a-KkG-7RziHcKisyCkE7hPc9fHEN0XrJvkf9xXPtaSb7Xu2sv64Rmtqb-0aPLzx9OQLk_/s320/IMG_1374.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I tried to get a shot of the sign with someone in an old mustang driving by but they turned a corner and all I got was the back of the car. The cars there ranged from brightly colored ferrari's to cars that look like (nay, were) made in the 1800's. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Being as I don't eat these very often, I thought that it would be nice for a change. Little did I know, mangoes have large seeds in the center and there is a specific way to cut one and everything. This required me to do some internet snooping and resulted in me following along with a youtube video on how to cut a mango. All in all, it was a very poor outcome.<br />
<br />
I started by cutting the mango a little to the left of the middle leaving the stem still intact (with my favorite knife- as pictured). It came off easily.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPZOhf67HVUAJW56GQTJigEg8AXBaOaej0Su7qIVNc4nFtqi7QEg1NceYzuaV16CBFuUdAPkABDFVnEztgJrOB0v3sN79nRUroRqT8yxzY-rSCzP5zlkOHGWMelXTcz8g6l39oDYVWQ4ig/s1600/IMG_1368.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPZOhf67HVUAJW56GQTJigEg8AXBaOaej0Su7qIVNc4nFtqi7QEg1NceYzuaV16CBFuUdAPkABDFVnEztgJrOB0v3sN79nRUroRqT8yxzY-rSCzP5zlkOHGWMelXTcz8g6l39oDYVWQ4ig/s320/IMG_1368.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8_rhSIrp_4Hlir9JQPfUGgasSIYsiLJ2MBoq3h5XhqFK_R4pTeNlx-r6iG4_QevWJfByEI-Knk0bbmgZXIufCC9Ihw1DMsinZfi4r2ES0cm_eDVjgMBj7phUfq3U1kUosJFtDjNply2be/s1600/IMG_1369.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8_rhSIrp_4Hlir9JQPfUGgasSIYsiLJ2MBoq3h5XhqFK_R4pTeNlx-r6iG4_QevWJfByEI-Knk0bbmgZXIufCC9Ihw1DMsinZfi4r2ES0cm_eDVjgMBj7phUfq3U1kUosJFtDjNply2be/s320/IMG_1369.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then I did the same to the other side, leaving that entire top part, with the white center (that's the pit) to be discarded. Seemed like a waste to me. I guess the seeds were more on the right so when I went to cut the second piece (face down) it was really tough. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcx8VJ2A1GtLNv_oxpI7hg7r_-stTjj_8XiA3Er0nQy15PtF6aKHMsTMC6tcodUXYdlMzp37yTBy8sgdlBdgw84cZTrNBXaXcb_NxwVwCYk9fGd2AjS5oCt6AjzvXXqdFOt__gc9Z9o6Y4/s1600/IMG_1370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcx8VJ2A1GtLNv_oxpI7hg7r_-stTjj_8XiA3Er0nQy15PtF6aKHMsTMC6tcodUXYdlMzp37yTBy8sgdlBdgw84cZTrNBXaXcb_NxwVwCYk9fGd2AjS5oCt6AjzvXXqdFOt__gc9Z9o6Y4/s320/IMG_1370.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Anyway, after all those shenanigans were over, it was time to actually cut it into edible pieces. I took the smaller, more depressed looking half and cut the skin off then just cut it using a knife. I got about 6 pieces out of that. Seems like a lot of work for a small amount of mango. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5pAvi6TkB3YR-cXIRR35z_mvAWQlBujC_AMgSt_rRmZdszoW3Z8jW-tCkn2RU5o2Aq42NlTzh-sYJUMwxHu2AFLxrXMkNvKU7suWysAKtwkKpxSgXUI-jjHx3niGR7A4QEwE9OJ37PTCU/s1600/IMG_1372.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5pAvi6TkB3YR-cXIRR35z_mvAWQlBujC_AMgSt_rRmZdszoW3Z8jW-tCkn2RU5o2Aq42NlTzh-sYJUMwxHu2AFLxrXMkNvKU7suWysAKtwkKpxSgXUI-jjHx3niGR7A4QEwE9OJ37PTCU/s320/IMG_1372.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For the second half, I tried using some fancy technique that the online reference suggested. I used a small knife to cut slits in the mango then tried to use a spoon to scoop them up. It didn't look as clean-cut or professional when I attempted it but I think it worked. I got about 8 small pieces out of that leaving me with a very depressing end result. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-RjMgV_7o4tI4rpOOvuLjXo4AXhGSCBFVtAKcJZFvtFvGzzGryBYjW1bocHIRocUtwddQLUl6VJKIGpHz3_fSmsd0r5k0exIi-w4AhmxpD01mIgcdZbuinjfv8vP7fCaDzEU-OlPSRIh5/s1600/IMG_1373.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-RjMgV_7o4tI4rpOOvuLjXo4AXhGSCBFVtAKcJZFvtFvGzzGryBYjW1bocHIRocUtwddQLUl6VJKIGpHz3_fSmsd0r5k0exIi-w4AhmxpD01mIgcdZbuinjfv8vP7fCaDzEU-OlPSRIh5/s320/IMG_1373.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Are you supposed to only get this much mango? It seemed strange to me. Maybe I'll try it again sometime and see if I can perfect my technique. It seems like such a hassle for such a small outcome. On the contrary, they were very delicious and even both my unadventurous grandparents seemed to enjoy it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That's all for now. I still haven't got the photos from Saturday's race but I will eventually! At least it's something to look forward to.</div>Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1302117865582366461.post-22007386420048864842011-07-25T10:45:00.000-07:002011-07-25T10:49:37.959-07:00Lazy DayBeing as these past few days have been tiresome and busy, I thought today would be a good day to take it easy. However, I was awoken at some early time o'clock by the melodic sounds of power tools and hammering coming from down the hall. Our bathroom (and I use the term 'our' loosely being as it's actually my parent's bathroom of which I don't enter for months on end sometimes) is being remodeled and the builders have been working on it every work day for well over a month now. I managed to get a picture of it earlier and I particularly don't think it looks too different apart from the fact the walls are now tiled.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2dXZf4MqfUoz8eioK4uji0Uq5e9A2mQIBYcxXY8KwhGm1YumZDVdtGLQBxg4Xwe9VYmyCHzO08LYvAEkB1Vzhvmi7KBfYVmj5IlADYGQ9iJIA-RW6Q5-aY_P1ttPKR_LO4-drNMDnCIkz/s1600/IMG_1365.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2dXZf4MqfUoz8eioK4uji0Uq5e9A2mQIBYcxXY8KwhGm1YumZDVdtGLQBxg4Xwe9VYmyCHzO08LYvAEkB1Vzhvmi7KBfYVmj5IlADYGQ9iJIA-RW6Q5-aY_P1ttPKR_LO4-drNMDnCIkz/s320/IMG_1365.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
It looks a bit bland for my liking but mom likes it and that's all that matters. (I'm sure she'll agree with me there).<br />
<br />
Anyways, around 11:00 I figured I should get off 'me arse' (I believe that's the correct term) and do something so I took a stroll down to the Spring street school with my nan. It wasn't as hot as it's been but it was still humid. Not to mention I was attacked by savage mosquitos whilst walking through tree-covered paths!<br />
<br />
After we'd finished our expedition through the suburban streets of the bury, I came home to a bright yellow traffic cone outside my house... oh wait, that was actually just Emma back from her first day at soccer camp wearing her neon uniform that makes her look like a giant highlighter. We then proceeded to 'troph' the sushi that was in the fridge but not before I took some artistic photos of it.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">Some of the photos aren't too bad I think.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I tried some weird organic brand of green tea that I found in the health foods/ organic aisle at Stop and Shop but it was gross. It tasted really bitter like it needed to be sweeter but it has the same amount of sugar as Arizona green tea. Oh well. I managed to drink it but I still think I'm going to stick with my Arizona brand Green Tea. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">Anyway, that's all for today. I'll do a post about Saturday's race as soon as I can get my hands on some photos. I came in at a disappointing unofficial time of 33:25-ish. Not a very good PB race at all. Bye!</div>Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1302117865582366461.post-74050237246235499742011-07-24T09:09:00.000-07:002011-07-24T09:09:51.892-07:00Reincarnation of a Successful FailureAs the majority of people reading this will know, my previous blog was discontinued due to lack of time management and other priorities (a.k.a. I was too lazy and boring to think of anything to say). If you want to see it, it's robertveale.blogspot.com but I must warn you that it mainly revolves around me (very badly) attempting to learn a foreign language. This blog however will cover some random things about my life such as a log of sorts.<br />
A lot has happened in two years. I'll be going into high school next September (taking Honors Maths, Honors Bio, World Civ, English 9A, and French2A). I've also ventured into the land of music since I was in 6th grade. About 3 months ago I bought myself a piano and began teaching myself. Since then I've started getting lessons and still liking it. I will most likely talk about this somewhat in the future. Also, over the past 6 months, I've begun participating in 5k's and just running in general. I'm hoping to get my time to below 30 minutes by the end of the year.<br />
So basically, this blog will consist of my life involving running, piano, vacations and whatever else pops into my head so stick around.Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02758558258716632626noreply@blogger.com0
